VMAP 「ヴォッグ測定値と予報」
ヴォッグ(vog)は、火山性スモッグ(volcanic smog)。1983年より続いているキーラウエアのリフト・ゾーン噴火に加え、2008年から続いている山頂での活動により、大量の二酸化硫黄が風下の地域に影響を及ぼしています。キーラウエア近辺だけでなく、西側にあるコナ地区にも、他の島々にもです。
ハワイ大学マーノア校の海洋・地球科学・テクノロジー学部(The School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology at The University of Hawaii at Manoa) による「VMAP Vog Measurement and Prediction Project」というサイトで、現在のヴォッグの測定値と予報を見ることができます。
ハワイ大学マーノア校の気象学科(University of Hawaii at Manoa, Department of Meteorology)のサイトでもハワイ諸島における現在のヴォッグ・エアロゾル排出量(Current Vog Aerosol Output – Hawaiian Islands)を示したマップを見ることができます。
